Genevieve Leet’s passion is connecting people with the natural world through environmental education, leadership development, and creative writing. As a project director at Environmental Leadership Strategies, Leet consults funders on enhancing and expanding their environmental education and leadership programs. For example as a result of a 2015 project, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation plans to nearly quadruple its environmental education portfolio, becoming the nation’s third largest funder of the field. Currently, she facilitates formation of a network of 23 environmental education centers in the Delaware River watershed, working in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation and the William Penn Foundation.

Leet specialized in conservation ecology and environmental education at the University of Michigan’s graduate program in Natural Resources and Environment. With photos and award-winning poems appearing in literary journals across the country, Leet currently writes and works from Portland, Oregon. On weekends, you can find Genevieve mountineering the volcanic peaks of the Pacific Northwest’s Cascade Range.
